A new way of getting around

This is Harry's favorite way of "walking" around!  He's getting pretty good at it.  He's not walking on his own yet, not even any steps.  I'm just fine and dandy with that!  Definitely not pushing the whole walking thing.  It's fun to see him explore like this though!

One of Harry's fav's

Harry LOVES buttons, just as any 13 month old boy should!!  He loves the keyboard (not any of extra keyboards-the one that mommy or daddy is typing on!), the power button on any of the computers, the buttons on our piano (he likes them even more than the actual keys!).  He pretty much loves any button that will make a sound or light up!  Here he is with one of his favorite buttons that is on our bedroom radio.

This is one of our larger harvests.  I love summer!!!  Our tomatoes are doing really well.  The zucchini are suffering a bit because of squash bugs, but we are still getting a few here and there from our remaining two plants.  I have had a tomato sandwich for lunch for literally every day the past two weeks.  YUM!!  I even found a tiny, 1-inch watermelon two days ago.  I'm excited to see if it actually grows!

When I came home from Utah, David told me to go in the front door and look in the bay window.  He said there was a surprise and he would meet me inside.  I went in and saw a big white cage...looked inside...was it a gerbil-nope, it's a bunny!!  I was sooooo excited and I thought it was one of the greatest surprises ever.  He said he had been thinking about getting me a bunny for a while, and after I saw that wild bunny at the rose festival he was sold that a bunny was the pet for me.  I love our bunny because he is easy to take care of and is so soft and good-natured.  We let him out of his cage to roam around the house every so often, and he does really well not to go to the bathroom on the floor.  He is basically litter trained and only goes to the bathroom in his designated green plastic thing.  It is funny to seem him run around.  He will jump and flinch around on the rugs, but when it comes to the slippery wood floor he is pretty timid!  He knows he is not supposed to go upstairs.  One day we had let him loose while we were working on paintball stuff.  We came up from the basement and Ringo wasn't around.  Dave went upstairs and as soon as he got to the guest room-whoosh!  Ringo was off like a shot down the stairs!  I think he knew he was not supposed to be up there!  He was named by David and his name comes from the Italian cookie brand "Ringo."  They are like oreos, but black on one side and white on the other.  It made me feel so special to get a surprise like this.  I have the best husband ever!  Ringo is a mini-rex and will get to be about 4-6 pounds.  Right now he is about 3 1/2 months old.  Harry LOVES Ringo-wow.  He is pretty good about being gentle, but did grab his ears hard once.  He will just crawl around and try to catch Ringo, but Ringo is usually too fast!  Harry will stand in front of Ringo's cage and squeal with delight.  It's so fun to have a pet.

Ohio State Fair!

The fair was so much fun!  I think the craft section was kind of weak, and they didn't really have that much "produce"-you know, like the massive pumpkins and tomatoes etc.?  They did have one large zucchini that was 10 pounds!  I always liked that part of the Utah State Fair, and I loved the quilts and the beautiful canned produce at the Utah State Fair too.  Here are some highlights!

A fried candybar.  We HAD to try it!  Dave said he's been wanting to try one for a looong time.  It was pretty tasty!  (What's not to like?)

Sweet Clara, our niece that now lives by us!  She is so precious.  It was fun to be able to go to the fair with Jordan and Crystal.  Yay for having family in Ohio!

Harry was so scared of the goats, rams, and pigs!  I think it's because they were bigger than him.  He would watch for a second, and then get this incredibly sad face.  Poor guy.  If I saw a goat bigger than me, I'd be scared too.

Christmas trees exhibit.  One of the coolest parts of the fair (which I didn't get a picture of-what was I thinking?) was the decorated cowboy hats.  Each county painted a hat and some of them were sooo amazing!  They were all in the theme of the beautiful and rich Ohio farmland.  Many of them had little figures on them too.

OK, now that I have a lemon to suck on, I'm happy (???)  Pickles, lemons....he's knows what's good.

This is such a cute bunny.  I especially liked the bunnies now that I have a bunny of my own!

Eating a huge turkey leg.  We have always wanted to try one of these too, and boy was it tasty!!  It just makes you look medieval.

Utah Part 3 (the last one!)

Swimming at the new splash pool at the rec center and at my Grandma's sister's house.  Harry did NOT like swimming at first, but got a little more used to it after a few times.

At the ZOO!  Harry enjoyed the carousel, but wasn't feeling the best.  He had a low-grade fever, but was a trooper.

Camping at Albion Basin!  This is one of my favorite places ever!  It has wildflowers all over the place.  Harry LOVED the smores! :)

4 generations!  YEAH!!  I want Harry to know some German traditions and remember his heritage.

I have so much to post about.  Dave started medical school on Monday, and is enjoying it-but the classes move fast-the word fast doesn't quite seem adaquate.  We have already met some fun couples that are in David's same class.  Harry is pretty close to walking, and I need to post some video of that! :)
