Harry had a blast helping me get ready for the party!  I had such a fun time cooking up a bunch of stuff for the party.  Jordan and Crystal and the Ellsworths came over.  We had so much fun!  We even carved pumpkins.  Breanne had never carved a pumpkin, and it was Micah's first time too.  Harry was a pirate.  He didn't want to keep his hat/dreds on, but it was pretty cute when he did have it on.  His costume was super simple to make.  The guy in camo is our neighbor friend Jake who comes over here all the time.  He was awesome and passed out candy while we partied inside!!  We didn't even pay him ;)  Ha ha, no seriously he just volunteered to, he's pretty awesome.

If you want to see all the pictures, including about 100 taken by Micah, you can go here

Harry Talks, Walks With a Pig

An awesome couple from our ward gave this pig to David for his collection.  Really he doesn't do much with his collection anymore, but I think his collection came up with them because he used to be a farmer!  He has given Dave 3 pigs!  Harry really likes the newest addition, and you can see what he loves to do with it!

Okay, so I couldn't figure out a quick way to separate these...you get both movies in one viewer!

The End.

We don't need the trap anymore

His story it ended with gore

Tried crossing the street

But fate he did meet

He won't need those nuts in his store.

We got a knock on our door last night, and it was Chris.  He said, come take a look at this!  He had found the groundhog, dead, caput, roadkill.  He was the one who found it in the road, and he had put in in the median garbage can!  I was kind of sad because I didn't necessarily want him to die, but I guess if your an animal in a city, it's just a risk to get tromped by a car.  Goodbye, old friend.  I'm glad he's we don't have to worry about him chewing our porch!

Addendum:  I totally forgot to post that the last animal we caught was another racoon:  here he is!  As you can see....he tore up our grass just like the other racoon!!

Little Steps

Harry is walking a little bit now.  This video was taken a bit ago, and he has taken a few more steps than this shows.  He is getting good balance, and we have caught him standing up on his own, but when he sees us looking at him he slowly lowers himself down, thinking I hope they didn't just see standing up!  Silly boy :)  He loves his blocks lately and building with them is one of our favorite things to do together as a family!  He also loves petting a chasing after Ringo.  Last night we found out he LOVES cooked spinach.  That's our boy!

As you can see, Harry knew he was on camera and didn't cooperate as much as we'd have liked, but it's still a pretty darn cute video!

Renick's Family Market

I guess this place has been around for 50 years!  It is in Ashville which is about a half-hour from our house.  It was FREEZING but we had a blast!  We explored the pumpkin patch, but didn't buy a pumpkin.  We did go to the family store which had wonderful fall treats, apples, gourds, breads, canned fruit butters etc.  I loved it!  We bought some of the Renick-made Blackberry Butter and it is amazingly good.  I really enjoyed this place and we'll probably go back next year!  We also got some "country style native popcorn" which has dark kernels, and then Dave wanted to try the pork craklins.  They were interesting!  Harry liked them, and we figure they are great for him because he needs some fat on his bones!  We came home to some yummy and comforting Butternut Squash Soup that I had put in the crock pot earlier.  Such a fun evening!!

Catch #3 and #4

Two catches in one day!  First it was a raccoon.  I came home from church and checked the cage.  The raccoon had totally torn up our lawn!!  I talked to our next-door neighbor and she said it has been working all morning just rolling the cage around and digging in the grass!  She said it seemed really mad!  By the time I got home he must have been all tired out because all he did was pretty much lay there.  Even when they released him (Jordan and David went) he seemed pretty docile-just ran right out of the cage.  I thought the raccoon was pretty cute too, although I saw him when he wasn't being mean.  They are so pesky though!  My neighbor had told me that we had a lot of raccoons and possums in this area, but now I have proof!  I had never actually seen one around.

Can you believe what it did to our lawn?

Our second catch was the adolescent cat that belongs to our neighbor.  This cat is cute, but crazy sometimes!  It has taken to sleeping in a big pot on our porch that is filled with a bag of packing peanuts.  I guess it thinks it is the perfect soft bed!  I'm saving the peanuts for filling when I plant our fig tree in it -that's the goal someday.  It has happened I think 4 times now where we open our front door and this cat bolts inside like it's being chased by a bear!  That part is somewhat annoying.  He was definitely just being curious about the cage because our bait was just a piece of bread!  When we opened the cage, he just sauntered out and rubbed up against my legs.  Silly cat.
